How to Make a Raw Cacao Wheatgrass Smoothie!

Below is a photo of my first raw cacao wheatgrass smoothie, using Amazing Grass wheatgrass powder!

The Wheatgrass Connection




If you’ve been following along with me all these years, you know that I love 100% Raw Cacao Banana Smoothies! I have them everyday for breakfast, and mixed with superfood powders, it’s just a great way to jumpstart your day.

I’ve been experimenting on my performance levels and how I feel with wheatgrass. The juice is popular at juice bars, but a little research tells me that the wheatgrass powder is highly concentrated in nutrients and protein. For more info on that, read my other post about wheatgrass powder.

Making a wheat grass smoothie or raw cacao wheatgrass smoothie would also be a good alternative to a green smoothie.

Basic Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar
  • 1 heaping tablespoon cacao powder
  • 1 heaping teaspoon wheatgrass powder
  • 14 ice cubes

You can add optional items like superfoods to enhance your smoothie and make it even more super-packed full of nutrients!

Basic Instructions

  • Simply put all the above ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth… and that’s it!
  • Pour your wonderful smoothie into a Starbucks-type container with straw (like in the photo above), and you’re good to go!

Variations On A Theme

Yet another alternative, as I soon discovered by browsing at the Amazing Grass site is that they have a ready-made powder called Amazing Meal – Chocolate Infusion.

This stuff contains a LOT of healthy ingredients including: maca powder, Acai and Goji Berries, Wheat Grass, Alfalfa, Kale, Barley Grass, Carrots.

Somehow all essential amino acids are present here (about 10 grams per serving size). 6 Grams of fiber, some digestive enzymes and probiotics.

Also included are rose hips, blueberries and banana.

Anyway, the Chocolate Infusion would be a good alternative. You could mix it with a nut milk, purified water or into your smoothie for a quick drink.
