My Favorite Japanese Restaurant
For Father’s Day celebration, my family took me to Kokoro Restaurant.
I will say this. Kokoro is a little bit pricey for a Japanese Restaurant. But, the quality of their Japanese cuisine and the ambience more than makes up for it.
For one, I really love the nice Jazz music playing in the background. It’s a great selection of cool and traditional Jazz and some Bossanovas and the like.
The simplicity of the decor and the Maple wood tables, counter tops and wall treatments truly make this small restaurant very warm and inviting, in a very calming way.
And the people who work here are very polite and friendly.
Once again I went to my favorites Vegan entrées:
- Miso soup: white miso soup with tofu, wakame, & green onion $3.50
- Tofu skin salad: baby spinach topped with fried tofu skins $7.00
- Veggie roll: avocado, gobo, & cucumber roll $5.50
- Total: $16.00 + tax & tip
My Vegan dinner was rather inexpensive at $16.00! Although other entrées like the Rainbow Roll alone was almost the price of my entire Vegan dinner. But this is a substantial roll made with great quality and freshness. Sushi Chef Akio Ishito does an amazing job!
I can’t have caffeinated beverages, so skipped the Green Tea in favor of iced water.
Rainbow roll: California roll covered with salmon, tuna, shrimp,
yellowtail, white fish, & avocado $14
Tofu Skin Salad
All in All
Kokoro Restaurant came through once again with an exceptional quality dining experience for this devoted Vegan. Many restaurants fail to deliver when catering to their Vegan customers, so as a Vegan, I was able to enjoy the Vegan selections at Kokoro Restaurant.
Most (if not all) of Kokoro Restaurant’s Salad entrées are Vegan, so next time I’ll have to try some of the other salads on the menu.
I’ll definitely be back.
