Macbook Pro 15 Inch Retina Touch Bar 2017
It’s been almost 6 years since I bought a new laptop. My first one was a 15 inch Mac Powerbook G4. I was proud of that one, but I made the mistake of buying a special aluminum briefcase for it and it wasn’t closed securely and my laptop fell out onto the street. It wasn’t the same after that.
My next laptop was a 15.5 inch HP laptop and that served me well from around 2005 to about 2012, but by the end it was very slow and outdated.
I badly needed a new laptop around 2012 and that’s when I stepped up to a 13 inch Macbook Air, and it was super lightweight and thin. And that laptop had served me well from 2012 to 2018. It’s still working well except the battery is dead, so I can’t take it out mobile’y without bringing the power cord.
And this takes us to the current year 2018.
I needed more computing power for trading and the Macbook Pro is expensive but I think it’s superbly designed and super fast. And of course the OS is flawless and intuitive. And, the OS sits on Darwin, a version of the UNIX operating system. I’ve always loved Linux and the Mac’s underpinnings are very similar on the command line.
Anyway, I’m stoked with the new laptop. It’s powerful. The Retina Display is amazing. And the touch bar is a nice….
