Morning Cup: Throwback Thursday Edition

Allen and Heath Passive Mixing Board

I recently bought a QSC K12 Powered Speaker, and I must say I am very pleased with the quality of the sound and the fact that it’s 1,000 watts power!

This will be great for both my keyboard gigs and with my electronic drums.

The only thing I need now is a nice passive mini-mixing board, and I remember the excellent sound quality of a fellow keyboardist who used both the Allen and Heath mixer with a QSC K15, I believe. The sound was so clear and big, great for those bigger Corporate Events or Wedding Receptions.

By itself, the K12s are excellent speakers, but it’s important to fine tune the sound with a passive mixing board.

Obligatory Throwback Pic

Here’s my throwback pic for this week. I was at this ranch in Alentejo, Portugal. This is me near the tour bus, with a very friendly greyhound dog.

Dates In My Smoothies

I don’t know why. Perhaps availability? But I’ve only recently started getting into putting dates into my smoothies, and the taste is pretty fantastic! As a matter-of-fact, I’ll have to do another Smoothie Recipe and share my current favorite smoothie, which also includes chia seeds and flax seeds.

Refinancing Pains

My wife and I are refinancing our house and supposedly we are locked into the current interest rate (we don’t want it to get higher as it’s going to be soon in the near future).

The good thing is that we can upload any docs into a portal. Everything these days involves scanning docs into PDF format and uploading. And also signing docs online, getting them via email. Far different than the old school method. But the big problem is that Mortgage Companies have strict regulations and they nitpick every detail of your financial life. And I’m thinking back to the days prior to the Housing Market crash when banks were very quick to give out loans, especially to people who aren’t actually qualified. Nowadays, even the qualified go through the ringer, if you know what I mean.
