Online Quizzes and Tools to Create Them

The Old Days

Quizzes in general have come a long way. In the old days, in order to take a quiz, teachers (or whomever) had to type and prepare them manually. And, I remember vividly how teachers and parents would quiz the avid student by using flash cards. Later Hypercard by Apple was a great piece of computer software to use in the creation of quizzes.

Online Tools

Nowadays, you can use software to quickly create quizzes and tests for students. And of course, you can take a quiz online, and even take complete online courses that quiz and test you online. Not only that, there are a plethora of study guides and strategies to help prepare you for these online quizzes and tests!

Yes, nowadays, with the Internet as our world wide tool of communication, we can take quizzes and tests anywhere in the world. We can take online college courses online, or do online driving school, and we can prepare quizzes (if we are teachers) for our students online. Though in most cases today, the typical student still takes quizzes in the classroom, that scenario is beginning to change rapidly, as more and more students are afforded the opportunity to take quizzes and tests online and from virtually anywhere.

My Brief Experience With Creating Quiz Software

There was a time in the past when I created my own quiz software in the C programming language. I was a Computer Science student at the time, and I built a simple quiz for learning State Capitols and Major Cities and States Names. It was a fun project but I realized all the hardwork that when into it.

Today’s quiz software and online quiz generating tools make it so much easier for the user to create custom quizzes and tests. Take, for example, the quiz software on ProProfs.

Creating Free Quizzes on ProProfs.com

ProProfs.com is a site where you can easily create your own quizzes as well as take them.

I was able to create a quick quiz on the ProProfs website, and embedded it on this page for you to take.

Let’s see if you know a little bit about me…

How Did You Do?

If you’ve known me for years, hopefully, you passed with flying colors. If not, start reading about me on this blog and get to know me. But the quiz itself was pretty simple.

ProProfs.com’s Quiz Maker is a great online tool for creating some quick quizzes, but you CAN get a bit more sophisticated if you want to… like adding graphics and images, creating links and inserting video into your questions.

Actually, I cannot agree with you any more!
I, as a teacher, always believe that the special quiz creator software may bring high-efficiency teaching effects for our teachers.
The online quiz creator proprofs you refered is really an easy-to-use and convenient tool for online making quiz. And I have used the tool after reading your article.
Compared with a quiz creator software-Wondershare QuizCreator that I have used for several years,
    1. The proprofs quiz can be made online directly, and be inserted with images from flickr and videos from the real url. It also support three types of questions.
    2. The The Wondershare QuizCreator is an offline software. We can use it to make quiz and then upload the quiz made to web, blog, etc.
    3. The Wondershare QuizCreator has nine kinds of question types to choose, can be inserted with multimedia from our PCs.
    4. I can track and collect the quiz results with a special mail for saving much time.
Now, share with you a quiz made by the QuizCreator: http://www.sameshow.com/samples/solar-system-qu
Hope to share with you more about the quiz!
