Ramblings of a Zen Trader and Wandering Musician
My goal is to be able to trade stocks in the mornings and gig at night as a musician.
Of course, there is some flexibility in this, as if I have a busy week of gigging, then I will adjust on the stock trading in the mornings.
I’m not a day trader. And I believe that’s just a scam for day traders to ‘teach’ classes and rack in the money from their students.
Investors shouldn’t have to work that hard. The whole point of investing is to let YOUR MONEY work FOR YOU. So,
I like to check the markets out in the morning and finish up well before lunch. I wake up early because on the West Coast the stock market opens at 6:30am.
Spending too much time in front of the computer screen, stressing out about making and losing money, is not healthy for you. So, when I’m on the computer working on the stock market, I listen to Classical Music and Jazz, but nothing too crazy.
I meditate and I do deep breathing exercises whenever I can, so my stress levels are non-existent when trading stocks. It’s fun, and I enjoy doing it. It’s a passion.
Keep in mind, that the primary goal of investing is to have passive income streams. You invest and let that investment do all the work. Of course, you do the initial work studying stock charts and company fundamentals. But once you’ve done the initial homework you should allow the investments to do their job.
Of course, monitoring your investments here and there is important in making decisions in selling, when and if the time is right.
