In my quest to find Vegan and Raw Vegan restaurants and eateries, I chanced upon the iPhone App ‘Happy Cow’. This is a great Mobile App for finding the Vegan, Raw Vegan and Vegetarian food places in your current location.

I was surprised to find out that there was a Raw Vegan place called The Living Root Cellar, in the very shopping center I’d been going to for a few years. This is a very new place so I didn’t notice it before, but it features Raw & Vegan foods, Cold Pressed Juices, Smoothies, etc. So, I was pretty stoked that this was close by.

A Liquid Lazarus Boost

So, the first smoothie I tried was their Liquid Lazarus. The price for this beverage was $7.50, and yes that’s a bit pricey for a smoothie. I think a Starbucks smoothie is a little over $5, and you can get a Jamba Juice smoothie for around $5-6. But, The Living Root Cellar’s smoothies are made from the highest quality, organic, local produce, and the taste shows it.

The Liquid Lazarus tasted so fresh. Compared to the Starbucks and Jamba Juice smoothies, the Liquid Lazarus was the freshest, and the overall taste was amazing!

I enjoyed the Liquid Lazarus so much that the next day, I bought another one, along with an order of their Extra Spicy Taco Wraps, which were Raw Vegan and excellent for $5. And I went to their Redlands location for round two!

To Summarize…

This is a great find for Raw Vegans living in the Riverside, Loma Linda and Redlands areas. And I hope they grow and expand down to San Diego!

Although a bit on the pricey side, I’d be willing to try their 1 Day Juice Cleanse for $40. You get 6 cleansing juices which you have to drink at least 2 hours apart.

Anyway, I’ll definitely be back for my Raw Vegan smoothies and food in the near future.
