Revisiting Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s ‘The Endless Enigma’

Revisiting ELP

Listening to The Endless Enigma by Emerson, Lake and Palmer has brought musical memories of when I was in middle school and getting into Classical Rock (aka Symphonic Rock and Progressive Rock).

Listening to this album again makes me appreciate the group, the musicians, and exceptional talent and skills to put these tone poems together.

And reading the lyrics to The Endless Enigma is a demonstration of just how poignant their words were, in those days and even today.

Your words waste and decay
Nothing you say
Reaches my ears anyway
You never spoke a word of truth

Please, please, please open their eyes,
Please, please, please don’t give me lies…
