Social Media: Rekindling My Interest in #Pinterest

My Sudden Love For Pinterest

I’ve been on Pinterest a few years now, but I’ve never really opened-up-to-it until this month, when I suddenly realized there were a few reasons to appreciate it even more.

3 Reasons to Love Pinterest

  • Visually Stunning! There’s no doubt that many will find Pinterest total eye-candy! I mean, it’s visually oriented and well… we covet what we see, right?
  • Creative Ideas! Pinterest is a great place to share ideas such as beauty tips, decorating & organizing ideas, and suggested places to visit.
  • User Functionality. I find Pinterest very useful in helping me organize all the things that I’m interested in. It’s very easy to edit your boards and move things around. It’s high user functionality and user friendliness is what makes Pinterest so successful.

A Good Place To Promote Your Site

Last but not least, I think Pinterest is a great place to promote your website.

If you have great artwork or photography that has the potential to be very appealing, then you can use it as a header for your blog post and pin it to Pinterest. This will act as a visual ad that leads the user back to your blog.

Many popular blogs utilize very beautiful illustrations that, by themselves, are the actual blog post! These illustrations function well by themselves and are very pinnable, so that Pinterest users can share them simply because they are eye-candy.

Its Usefulness and Popularity

But, I’m simply enjoying Pinterest more these days, because of the fact that it is very useful. Many of these illustrations that are so popular on Pinterest help to inform, like one illustration that covers blogging history, or one that visually lists 10 superfoods.

Pinterest has gotten so popular that it now has an Alexa Rank of 37 and a Google Page rank of 9 (out of 10).

Pinterest has that visual appeal, and that’s what makes the site extremely successful.
