Solo Piano Notes for July 5, 2017

Solo Piano Notes July 5, 2017

I finally did my first solo piano gig since coming back from China. I admit, that even though I practiced quite a bit before hand, I was a little rusty. But, it felt really good to perform piano again.

I thought, overall, I did very well considering.

But, I’m thinking of bringing my own keyboard again. The piano there at the venue is very old, out of tune, and the action of keys are making it difficult now. Granted, I considered it great practice to perform on a piano that had some issues, but I think I should give my audience a tuned piano.

Instead of bringing everything to do my one man jazz trio gig, I just want to try it with digital piano alone and see how the audience likes it. I feel that they like a ‘real’ piano compared to a digital keyboard, but if the real piano is really getting out of tune, then I’ll need to think about switching to my digital keyboard. It should sound very good with the new QSC K12 speaker.

Hmm… More on this later…
