The Stock Market Could Be In For Some Rough Waters

The stock market is bouncing back this morning, largely in part because of Boeing’s (BA) reported earnings. The stock gapped up this morning more than 5% to a high of $360.97, and carried the rest of the stock market along with it.

But, now we are seeing signs of coming down from the highs of the day.

This isn’t the bounce back I was hoping to see. As it really hasn’t made much of an impact when you consider the losses that occurred on Monday and Tuesday.

Nevertheless, it could be worse.

Volatility and Possible Corrections

Analysts have been complaining about the lack of volatility in 2017. Well, there was a downtrend during the whole BREXIT crisis, but for the most part the stock market rallied big time in 2017, looking back.

There was a lot of optimism heading into 2018, but now we are in possible correction territory, so investors need to tread carefully.

My Portfolio

  • Top Winners: BA, CAT, SHOP, ISRG
  • Bottom Losers: FDX, AAPL, ING, TCEHY

Tencent Holdings LTD (TCEHY) is one of my recent purchases and a disappointment so far. This is an ETF that indexes the best Chinese companies. Another disappointment was FedEX (FDX).

I’m not too worried, as my losers represent great companies, so it’s a matter of holding these longer.

I’m not about to take losses in 2018. And if I sell it’ll only be to take some profits off the top.

Note: The stock market is subject to volatility. Trade at your own risk!
