Sunday, June 3, 2018: Stocks I’m Planning to Buy in June

Reviewing the Market Indexes

DOW +219.37   •   NASDAQ +112.21   •   SP500 +29.36   •   NYSE +93.69

The major indexes did well on Friday, even though we almost broke even for the week. Still, it’s nice to see a pretty strong rally going on.

Is Trump responsible for the good things happen to the stock market? Well, in all honesty, he was absolutely hurting the stock market with his rhetoric about trade wars again, this time attacking European countries. And the resurfaced economic tensions in Italy and Spain did help, either.

Consistently, every time the Trump administration talked trade wars the stock market suffered losses. And many investors don’t trust the stock market right now after this major correction beginning in January 2018.

Frankly, I believe that the nice long rally in 2017 was pretty much hype and many stocks were being overbought. And when January 2018 came along, after Trump’s SOTU speech, stocks tumbled big time and I’m still trying to figure it out. And other than the fact that we were on some long rally that would eventually peter out, perhaps all the hype about Trump being a savvy businessman didn’t really help the stock market any, because even he himself mentioned that he doesn’t really do stocks, just real estate.

But I’m not forgetting the deals Trump made in Saudi Arabia and in Europe that helped strike major contracts with Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Boeing was the big winner in 2017, but Lockheed Martin hasn’t really benefited as well, given its lackluster stock performance.

Anyway, below are stocks that I’m looking to buy. I’m also looking at my portfolio winners and buying more shares of those stocks, so there are two areas in which I can take advantage of stock purchases, one are new stocks and two are buy more winning stocks.

As the saying goes, “Let your winners run, and cut your losses early”… this is just one strategy with regards to stock investing.
