In this age of ‘alternative facts’ and ‘fake news’, it’s vitally important to still be a well-read individual.
I say this because the truth is still out there, somewhere… and knowledge is power.
But there are entities and individuals who’ll stand at nothing to bend the truth a little, or maybe even concoct lies based on our fears and our ignorance.
It’s important to still read as much as one can, but also to develop a good radar to decipher fact from fiction.
Mass Media Brainwashing has been around for a long time, but it’s taken on new forms through Social Media.
And even bad publicity is good publicity these days. The important thing is to get your name out there as many times as possible.
So, the best way to combat this phenomenon in the Social Media age is to forget the person. And don’t name the person. Otherwise, you’ll simply get tired of hearing about the person and why his name keeps showing up at the top of the daily news every morning.
I, for one, am tired of the person. So, I’m making my stand in refusing to name the person.
How about Gandhi, the Dalai Lama or Jesus Christ. Or even Gautama Buddha.
These are names of people I admire more than anyone else, so I will continue to name them.
