I’m up early this morning.
That’s a good thing, which means I’m pretty healthy again.
Okay, I had the flu for about a good two weeks, beginning just a couple days AFTER Super Bowl Sunday.
I have to tell you I don’t wish this one on my worst enemy (not that I have any).
But this strain was a bad one, and even this morning I have remnants in the form of the common cold.
About the only way to combat the flu is to get an annual flu shot, which I never do. So thus, I was susceptible to the prevailing strains out there.
When I got hit hard by the flu, it was mainly the fever (my highest reading was 102.6F), aches and pains all over, and just a general feeling of weakness that kept me in bed for at least 5 days straight without eating!
So, waking up early and doing my usual routines are definitely a blessing.
Before people start to thinking about the flu and a Vegan Diet, don’t go there…
Meat eaters are getting this flu. It’s like guys going bald. Don’t say that someone’s going bald or their hair is thinning because they’re not getting enough protein on a vegan diet. Meat eaters, a multitude of them, are losing their hair and still getting a lot of protein from animal products.
In fact, some vegans have a thick head of hair!
The Stock Market Rally
This current rally is perplexing, to say the least.
Right now, this morning, The Dow is in rally mode, although The NASDAQ is down a few points. Overall however, the market has been doing great since the beginning of the year.
Year-to-date, my own stock portfolio is up 9.47 percent!
Do we give credit to the new Trump Administration?
Well, he was taking credit for it.
But, some key corporations like Apple (AAPL) posted great earnings in the last quarter because iPhone 7 Plus sales hit record highs. Let’s face it, with Samsung having a terrible year with their smartphones catching on fire, it was inevitable that iPhone 7 Plus sales would become the dominant factor.
So, when a corporation like Apple Inc. posts great earnings and resulting in a gap up, with its biggest market cap ranking, the stock could very well be influencing the entire market in the process.
That is how big Apple is!
After all, iPhones are a big part of most people’s everyday lives.
And I would chalk that explanation up over a Trump influenced rally any day.
There ARE key stocks that do influence the stock market overall, so when they are doing great, the market tends to do great overall, and when it was floundering like Apple was doing in early 2016, the whole market tends to tank.
