Zen and the Art of Transcendance

Note: This is my mid-June update along with some random thoughts about life in general and the latest updates to this website.

You can find all posts for June 2015 over here.

The Art of Transcendance

I’m sure many of you have noticed that this site has been transcending in the past few months. This past February, this site quietly reached its 10 Year Anniversary! So, since then I’ve also quietly launched a new look here and have been diligently reworking the entire site…

…and thus the need for transcendence.

I’ve been specifically focused on Yoga and the Vegan Diet this month, so I haven’t had much of a chance to write some random thoughts.

Lots of changes have been happening to this site in June. For one, my Musings topic has been moved to the More menu in the navigation at the upper-right corner of the site.

New Yoga Pages

Also, I’ve expanded my Yoga pages considerably. So, the Yoga menu will not just show my latest posts under the Yoga category. Instead, these are actual pages that define Yoga and cover each of the eight limbs of Yoga. But, at the bottom of the main Yoga page, you’ll find the most recent articles and posts on the subject.

New Archive Page

I must say, I’m very proud of my New Archive Page.

It took me a couple days of hard work to hand code the pages. But the end result was that I have my archives organized by YEAR, and for each year I have all the posts for each MONTH. And this site has 10 years worth of posts, so this is nice to be able to explore each month of each year!

I’ve tried several archive plugins and the Archivist Plugin was the best for this site, and I could make extensive use of short codes to do the archives the way I wanted. So, I finally feel really good about the Archive Page now. No need to ever change this again.

New Top 100 Page

I’ve already touched upon this topic over here, but for this mid-month update, I just wanted to document that the new Top 100 Page is a big milestone for this site, and will always show the Top 100 posts for the current month. This is great for seeing what is currently popular on this site and getting some attention. For me personally as a blogger, it helps me to know which topics are gaining interest by my visitors.

International Yoga Day

The Summer Solstice 2015 is almost upon us!

In addition, the first ever International Yoga Day will be on June 21, 2015. The Summer Solstice!

Not Losing Weight on a Vegan Diet?

Yogini Instructor and Raw Vegan Ali Kamenova has a lot of great advice for Vegans in the following video.

I’ve been following her videos and although some of her Yoga routines are advanced, she also shares some easy, relaxing routines as well.
