New Album

Currently working on a new album entitled, “Songs from the Ambient Field”… It’s been a long effort to get this one out, and the track listing has gone through several changes… but, I do want to be faithful to the Ambient Music genre.

Hopefully, the new album should be out on September 11, 2021, and will be available for streaming on several streaming services, including Spotify.

Meanwhile, here’s the album cover, which is a photo I took in New England, somewhere near Gloucester, Massachussetts in May of 2010.

Corporate Gig in La Costa

I did a Corporate Gig at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, with Third Coast Jazz. It was part of a Golf Tournament event, and it was a gorgeous day but quite HOT. This time I had my drums with triggers and electronics. And it was a fun time, enjoyed improvising Jazz and Funk standards.

Yesterday’s line-up of Third Coast Jazz featured our fearless leader, Jon Walters on guitar, Jim Weiss on saxes, Harley Magsino on upright bass, and myself on acoustic and electronic drums.

My smurf band!

I have my smurf band somewhere in a box in the garage! I had forgotten that I had this smurf band. And I forgot the store in which I bought these… they had dozens you could collect, but I preferred the musician smurfs, obviously.

Getting Back to gigging

I’ve done a few gigs this month that were outdoors, and so I’m trying to slowly work my way back into the local music scene.

I’m also trying to get in touch with Senior Living facilities that have a Memory Care unit, as I’ve had a lot of experience playing piano at various assisted living places.

A part of it means trying to make the transition to gigging full-time again, but of course, much of my connections have been lost due to the pandemic. And one of my longtime colleagues had passed on during the pandemic due to a terminal illness. Rest in Peace.

I see many of my musical colleagues out there playing many gigs and I’m happy for them. I’m just trying to slowly make that transition back to playing piano and drums.
