One Man Jazz, Drums & Piano
Here’s one of my all-time favorite standards to play, Rogers and Hart’s ‘You Are Too Beautiul’.
Here’s a nice photo of Third Coast Jazz Band from a few years ago, taken at a Wedding Reception in Fairbanks Ranch. The home was amazing, and we had a great time playing mostly jazz music.
The line-up: Jon Walters (bandleader, guitar), Bill Shreeve (saxes), Jim Weiss (saxes), David Owen (keys), Harley Magsino (basses), and myself on drums.
I performed with Third Coast Jazz, the trio edition (Jon, Jim and myself) atop Symphony Towers at the University Club on the 34th floor. It was grand event and we were glad to be a part of Petru & Daniela’s celebration.
For the ceremony, Jim and I played some pre-ceremony romantic ballads and standards, and for the processional we play Just The Two of Us by Grover Washington, Jr. For the bride’s entrance escorted by her father, we played What A Wonderful World, made famous by jazz trumpeter and vocalist Louis Armstrong. And for the wedding exit I played Mendelssohn’s Wedding March.
Best wishes to the bride and groom on their new life together. Many blessings to them on their journey together.
